Breathable and waterproofing underlay, fire barrier
Transparent waterbase fixative primer, APEO FREE, easy to apply on several non-metal supports used in construction industry. It is suggested as primer for the application of self-adhesive membranes, in fact FIXUS promotes and increases the strength between the membrane and the surface especially for adhesiveness, structural flexibility and chemical inertia. It is a preparatory treatment on porous materials such as wood, plaster and general concretes, fixing and penetrating material’s fiber and microdust. It is unsaponifiable, resistant to wall surface alkalinity and it can be even overpainted with water paints or wall cladding.
RECOMMENDED USE It is used as it is on several surfaces like boards, pressing wood, walls, concrete and plaster. Clean previously the surface from incoherent parts and dust, usually one coat is enough as adhesion promoter. With very porous or absorbent surface, it is suggested to apply more coats in order to reduce porosity. FIXUS can be used to level out the absorption of next coats but also as fixative to stop the chalking of dusting surfaces and to stabilize removable particles.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Surfaces have to be clean, dry and brush and free from dust, old paints or no adhering impurities. Remove mould and algae with specific products.
APPLICATION:
Apply with brush, roller or spray according to the convenience.
Apply a full coat to wet totally the surface. If surface is particularly porous and absorbent, a second coat after drying is recommended.
Apply the adhesive membrane after drying. It is recommended to make some trials before.
DILUTION:
The product is ready to use, do not dilute it.
DRYING AT 20°C:
Dust free time: about 1 hour
Tack free time: about 2 - 3 hours
Overpainting: about 6-8 hours min
Complete dry: in 2 days
Avoid to apply with rain prevision.
METHOD OF USE:
Apply at temperatures between +10 and +35°C. Do not apply in extremely hot or cold conditions. Do not apply on very hot surfaces because the film-forming process would be accelerated excessively, with negative consequences for the product’s cohesion and adhesion to the substrate. Do not apply in very damp conditions or if there is a risk of rain while the film is still drying. Do not apply on wet or damp substrates. Wash the tools with water after use.
STORAGE:
The product remains unchanged for 12 months if stored with the original sealed bucket, in protected environment and with temperatures between +8 and +30°C.
